There are many informal paths through the wood, a consequence of more people using it since the houses were built. There is also a smaller number of designated public footpaths, shown on this map. Larger version available here<\/a><\/p>

As far as possible, people should keep to these paths because this preserves the wildlife and habitats of the wood which are under a lot of pressure. These public footpaths are shown on the post with yellow circular signs and arrows.<\/p>

The Friends of Frith Wood only works in the CPC part of the wood. The Robert Hitchins part is privately owned, with public access on the marked public footpaths, and we encourage you to stay on those paths to respect Robert Hitchin’s property.<\/p>

Please keep to the larger paths, clear up after your dog (dog mess changes the nutrients in the soil which affects the flora and it carries disease) and do all you can to keep it healthy for future generations. \"\"<\/p>

Friends of Frith Wood has put natural hedging along the public footpaths in the PC area of the wood to encourage people to use them rather than the informal paths and give the woodland floor a chance to recover.
