There are many informal paths through the wood, a consequence of more people using it since the houses were built. There is also a smaller number of designated public footpaths, shown on this map. Larger version available here As far as possible, people should keep to these paths because this preserves the wildlife and habitats of the wood which are under a lot of pressure. These public footpaths are shown on the post with yellow circular signs and arrows. There are also small posts with yellow tops, slightly hidden here and there along the boundary between the land owned by Robert Hitchins (about 3/4 of the wood, from the west side) and that owned by Chalford Parish Council. The Friends of Frith Wood only works in the CPC part of the wood.
