The Charity

Friends of Frith Wood (Registered Charity Number 1197165) was set up to conserve, protect and improve Frith Wood, Bussage, for the benefit of the public and of wildlife, biodiversity and natural capital.

A Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) is a legal entity which can enter into contracts and own property in its own name. FOFW has been set up as as a Foundation CIO.

We chose to set up the CIO as a Foundation which means key decisions are made by the trustees. The trustees will make decisions for the benefit of the wood and the people who know and love it to. We will ensure that the views and ideas of members and supporters about how we manage the wood and run the charity are considered in all our decision making.

What we want the community to see is a friendly, open and well set-up charity which they can trust to look after the wood and which they can be part of. Over the next few years we plan to build our membership and would like other people to become trustees so the charity remains inclusive and true to its purpose.
